Actually, "and" is superfluous here, since the symbol
tai chijust the familiar Yin-Yang sign is.
Note: YANG, not yang, as many say.
Yin and yang in ancient Chinese mythology and natural philosophy
represent the Great Limit (in fact, the meaning of Tai Chi) - a symbol of the creative unity of opposites in the Universe. It was depicted as a circle, divided by a wavy line into two halves - dark and light. Two points symmetrically located inside the circle - light on a dark background and dark on a light one - mean that each of the two great forces of the Universe carries the germ of the opposite principle. The dark and light fields are in constant motion in a circle - when one of the two principles reaches its peak, it gives way to the second.
Thus, the Great Limit is not a limitation that one might think of when one hears the word "limit", but the designation of the absolute, the correct and harmonious state of things - no further, and no closer than it should, no higher and no lower, no louder, and not quieter, and so on: as much as necessary. That is, we can call the Great Limit Harmony in its purest form.
What does this have to do with you personally? Even without your consent - the most direct. Both beginnings - yin and yang - are included in the circle of universal cyclic movement and change. To understand the principle of yin and yang, it is important to consider both not as opponents who are fighting among themselves. Are day and night opposed to each other? They just exist and that's the way things are. At least in our reality. According to the Chinese concept, yin and yang are inextricably linked. And only together they form something whole, - a complete system. For example, the “man” system, at any level of which, from mechanics to biochemistry, opposite processes occur that support our life. Flexors-extensors, catalysts-inhibitors, tension-relaxation, excitation-inhibition - all this happens with the most severe Tagil worker, and with the most gentle muslin young lady.
The question is in the proportions of yin and yang in the "man" system. Mr. Chief Engineer, who created this system, laid the principles of harmony in it, but these principles are far from being observed always and not by everyone, due to various circumstances. If it is completely simplified, then it looks like this: one copy, as they say, has everything, and he has no motivation to do anything actively in this life - lie on the stove, chew kalachi. Yin begins to dominate. Another copy plows at three jobs, and at night he taxis, forgetting to sleep and rest. His Yang is just over the top. In both cases, the harmony conceived by the Creator is violated, and any distortion leads ... That's right - first of all, to diseases. Awareness of the problems of Yin-Yang imbalance in any of the numerous systems, and putting them in order contribute to the restoration of the body, and the effectiveness of its activities. And the mood of the owner of such an organism will obviously improve.
In addition, one of the most important concepts of the traditional Chinese worldview - san cai - "three gifts" or "three riches" are: Heaven, Earth and the Man connecting them. In the cycle of its development, Chaos gives rise to two principles of the universe - Heaven and Earth, and is completed in Man. If you have read up to this point, then you can try on all of the above for yourself, and also congratulate yourself: it is YOU who are the Main Harmonizer of this world. And in your hands you have a wonderful tool - the "Great Limit" - a means and measure of changing this world. How to use it? Recipes, courses and manuals - a wagon and a small cart. Choose. I chose tai chi, because the practice of tai chi, in my opinion, and to my taste, is very suitable for both harmonization and development of the "human" system, and for its self-knowledge.
